S-G students making a scarf

Two students at Scotia-Glenville High School work together to wrap one of the scarves they created.

SCOTIA-GLENVILLE - A group of high school students at Scotia-Glenville provided some extra help for those in need this holiday season. Together they worked to make scarves to help keep people warm while winter continues along.

Teachers and coaches Jen Russell, Maria Wagner and Pat Zeman led the students in using donated fleece to cut and craft the scarves. The finished products were donated to Schenectady City Mission, where they were received warmly.

"Please tell the students we all say thank you and share with them how much of a difference they are making for people in need this winter," said Julia Goldstock, director of the annual fund at the Schenectady City Mission.

In addition to the much needed cold-weather essentials, the students handmade holiday cards to add some extra cheer to each gift.
